Spacious country house, charming atmosphere & pool

The accommodation

The cortijo, an original farmhouse has been renovated with loving care using traditional materials, the windows, thick shutters and doors were made by our local carpenter with seasoned chestnut wood. It has been designed ecologically to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The spacious double height sitting room is furnished with a mixture of antiques and interesting ethnic objects.
There are lots of books, DVDs and comfy chairs.
Doors lead on to the porch and terrace with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
Airy and cool in the heat of the summer, wonderfully atmospheric and warm in the autumn and winter.
The kitchen is well equipped and features a marvellous old stone work table, very inspirational for imaginative cooks.
The dining room leads off the kitchen; there is a huge 3.30 metre dining table and access to the terrace with barbecue, dining table for lovely outside dining experiences and sweeping views up to the peaks.
The little path to the swimming pool starts here, the pool 12 x 3m pool is set into a natural curve of the mountain, a lovely peaceful setting with stunning views of the countryside
There is accommodation for 6 people in three comfortable bedrooms, all have en-suite bathrooms.
The upstairs bedroom has access to a secluded 20m2 roof terrace with the best views of the mountain.There is a wonderful outside double bed with a canopy for sleeping out on lovely balmy summer nights
All the bedrooms are individually decorated with furnishings, rugs and textiles from Morocco and Mali. Two twin bedrooms lead on to the covered porch through french windows, with lovely views across the countryside. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms.

The cortijo is available for B &B when not rented as a self -catering house @ €65 per night per room with en suite bathroom. Minimum 2 nights stay.

Setting

Finca al-manzil is and extensive finca on the slopes of the stunning Sierra de Montanchez.
The accommodation is in the cortijo for 6 and extra accommodation for 2 if required at our barn. Wonderful views from the terraces, very comfortable furnishings and interesting decoration.
A swimming pool is set into the rocks of the sierra. The cortijo and barn are surrounded by natural woodland and olive groves.
The finca is very accessible with good roads from either Madrid or Sevilla

Activities and attractions

Horse riding can be arranged from the finca. Bike hire available.
Lovely walks in all directions.

FANTASTIC FOR BIRD WATCHING... an eagle owl is nesting in the woods,

flocks of azure winged magpies, magical hoopoes plus the usual eagles, hawks

and griffin vultures circling up in the crags.

A path leads from the barn to the wonderful pool surrounded by beautiful shrubs

and extensive views.
