Playa Blanca is located in the south of the beautiful island of Lanzarote (Canary Islands). The landscape is unique because it has been formed by volcanic eruptions that took place two hundred years ago and camel rides and the bus is carried out to show people the greatness of this unique view.

Its architecture is nice and follows in the footsteps of the famous architect Cesar Manrique, whose house-museum is really worth visiting, and many other locations distributed around the island. Playa Blanca has a beach lined with various restaurants to enjoy the best fish and meat on the island, the famous mojo potatoes wrinkles and stung, wine and local cheese, and a promenade lined with many shops, where you can almost always enjoy the bright sunshine and warm climate all year round, and offers magnificent views of mountains and islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura.

The resort features a stunning new marina with a lot of cafes on the promenade, restaurants and luxury shops and bowling. The weekly market is held there. Within a short drive away are the magnificent beaches of Papagayo, considered by many as the most beautiful in Spain.

Activities and attractions

From the port of Playa Blanca, ferries cross several times a day to Fuerteventura, in just 20 minutes. Now Playa Blanca has a new bus station and new bus service has been extended to completely cover all areas of both the station and the rest of the island.

Among the main attractions, and it certainly is a shame to miss when visiting the island, are:

-Timanfaya National Park. Where for the more adventurous, they offer a camel ride.
-La Casa de Cesar Manrique Museum - A must visit, which was the residence on the island of the charismatic artist and architect.

-In Arrecife (the capital), the Castillo de San José, from XVIIIth century which is now the International Museum of Contemporary Art, housing a collection of works by Picasso, Chillida and Miró, and also has a very good restaurant (Tel . 928 81 23 21), Castillo de San Gabriel, situated on an island off the city and joined to it by an arm of land that has been declared a historic monument and converted into Archaeological Museum. And for lovers of the big screen, in Arrecife are also two good movie theaters, one inside the mall Deiland.

Depending on your musical tastes, you can find many areas for nightlife on the island.

The evening begins with the call for an exquisite dinner in one of the many restaurants. The visitor should know that dinner times usually begin at 20.30 pm and last until well after midnight in most cases. However, in tourist areas often bring dinner, initially, the schedule of foreign tourists, so their schedules are ahead at 19.30 approximately, or even earlier.

After a delicious dinner, Lanzarote offers to its tourist countless possibilities for fun in dance halls, nightclubs and pubs spread mainly by reef and tourist villages, mostly open until 3.00 am in the morning.
