It is a typical house in a spot with a privileged view over the right bank of Douro river and the city of Porto. The house accommodates 2 to 6 guests. It is the perfect place for families.

Located in Afurada, a small fishing village in Vila Nova de Gaia, a walking distance from Porto Historic Centre and Port wine cellars.

The ground floor (38 m2) has a kitchen, dining room, WC with bathtub with shower and a closet. In the upper floor (38 m2) there are 2 bedrooms and a living with a double couch.

Setting

Located in São Pedro da Afurada is a village on the left bank of the Douro, just next to the river mouth. It is the most recent, smallest and most typical of Gaia's parishes.

Afurada is essentially known for its fishing traditions as well as for its feast in honour of São Pedro which is commemorated every year on the first weekend of July and consists of a beautiful pilgrimage followed by a lively open-air festival. The gastronomy of this parish has a special glow because many of the fish dishes that you can appreciate in its restaurants are fruit of the local work.

From the house you can get to Porto by several ways. In Gaia Historic Centre (3 Km walk) you can also take the Gaia Aerial Lift near the Port Wine Cellars. From Gaia Historic Centre and after crossing the river at D. Luis I bridge you are at Ribeira, the World Heritage Historical Centre.

At the end of the street you can cross the river by boat (every 30m). The boat ticket is 1€ (another 1€ if you have a bike). On the other side of the river you can take the bus (Line 500), the sightseeing bus or the tramway (Porto Tramway City Tour, Line 1, every 30m).

Bus stop at the end of the street, opposite the river (Line 14 - Gaia Metro; Line 18 - Porto Boavista - Casa da Música; Line 27 - Porto Historic Centre).

A 3 Km walk by the riverside will take you to the Port Wine Cellars in Gaia Historic Centre. Another kilometer and after crossing D. Luís I Bridge you will be at Ribeira - Porto Historic Centre.

Activities and attractions

A lot of facilities, restaurants, coffee shops, beaches and sightseeing spots are near.

The Natural Reserve of Douro Estuary in the final part of Douro estuary, on the south bank of the river, is the place for the shelter and nesting of many birds. A perfect spot for bird-watchers and nature photographers. A Local Nature Reserve with an area of 62 hectares. Open everyday with free entry. 1,5 km away.

The Interpretive Heritage Centre of Afurada is also very close (100m). A permanent exhibition and a local documentation centre shows the history of the village and the traditional ways of life of their people, which are linked to the Douro River and fishing.

- Beaches: 15 km of sandy beaches, only 3 km. With good access for walks and bicycle rides the beaches have several nearby restaurants and cafés. Most of them have surf spots and surf schools.
- Douro Marina: with the capacity to receive and accommodate 300 boats, with up to 50 meters. 500 meters away.
