Apartment for 4 people in the centre of Valencia

Cold apartment de manofwilder 31/Mar/2011 (regarding a stay in March 2011)

We stayed from March 22th until March 28th 2011 in this apartment. It is a fine place to stay when the weather is warm and shiny. It is near the old city. Nice balcony. Spacious apartment for 2 persons.
We had some rain and low temperature. There is only 1 little electric radiator in the livingroom, no heating in kitchen and bathroom. The electric radiaror is programmed by the owner, you can't change the temparature your self.
The temperature/capacity of the electric radiator was far to little. Every evening we were cold all over, we sat under a blanket watching TV. I got a cold.

What we liked:
The apartment is located near the city center ten minutes walk to the historical sights, cute shops and good restaurants. The supermarket, the bakery and a grocery, petrol station are all set on the same street. The terrace is very comfortable, if it is hot. The landlord is friendly.
What we didn’t liked:
No warm water the first two days, because the water heater wasn’t checked before we arrived (probably we were the first tenant of the year). The microwave was out of order, the oven was out of order. In the washing-machine was an old dirty rag, so we forego to use it. The equipement of the kitchen is more than spartan (non-functional can opener, one very used pan an so on). The bed in the little room is unacceptable for two persons. The heating (we had cold days) is insufficient. Rooms an kitchen were not very well cleaned.

Was uns gefiel:
Die Wohnung liegt nahe der Innenstadt, zehn Minuten zu Fuss und man ist in der sehenswerten du lebendigen Altstadt. Supermarkt, Bäcker und Obstgeschäfte sind in derselben Straße, um die Ecke eine Tankstelle. Die Terasse ist bei schönem Wetter sehr angenehm. Der Verwalter ist freundlich.
Was uns nicht gefiel:
In den ersten beiden Tagen hatten wir kein warmes Wasser, weil der Boiler vor der Ankunft nicht kontrolliert worden war (offenbar waren wir die ersten Gäste des Jahres). Die Mikrowelle funktionierte nicht, ebenso der Backofen. In der Waschmaschine lag ein alter, dreckiger Lumpen, sodass wir auf den Gebrauch verzichteten. Die Küche ist mehr als spartanisch ausgerüstet (kein funktionsfähiger Dosenöffner, eine alte sehr verkratzte Pfanne usw.). Das Bett in kleinem Zimmer ist für zwei Personen unzumutbar. Die Heizung (leider hatten wir ein paar kalte Tage) war zu schwach. Die Zimmer und die Küche waren nicht wirklich sauber geputzt.
Standard wie in einer bescheidenen Jugendherberge.
