The accommodation

Set in the Moorish, hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera, this beautiful patio house can comfortably accommodate up to four adults.

Access to the house is via a traditional flower-filled patio with its own watering well, and offers comfortable accommodation split over three levels with a large double bedroom on the first level and a standard double bed on the third level.

The second level has a well-equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area for self-catering, and the lounge area comfortably accommodates four people.

The rooftop terrace has breath-taking views of the old town and to the coast and is the perfect spot to enjoy sunsets.

Setting

With its white-washed houses, flower-filled courtyards, friendly locals, lively fiestas and delicious food, Vejer de la Frontera is the perfect location for anyone wanting to experience a part of Andalucian Spain where tourists are still a rarity. This charming hilltop pueblo blanco overlooks the rugged Atlantic Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light) between Portugal and Spain.

Casa Rivas is nestled within the historic ‘old town’ area of Vejer and offer comfortable self-catering accommodation. It's within easy walk of the daily market, local shops, bars, restaurants and free parking. Each has a private roof terrace with mesmerising views of the old town and surrounding countryside.

Activities and attractions

Vejer de la Frontera is ideally placed for anyone wanting to take advantage of the nearby golf course and horse riding at Montenmedio while enjoying the magical atmosphere of this unspoiled pueblo blanco.

Bird-watching enthusiasts come to the area for the Coto Doñana national park, and holds Europe’s most important bird migratory routes to north Africa. The windsurfing and kitesurfing mecca of Tarifa is also within easy reach, and is the main departure point for whale-watching and crossings to Morocco. We are just 30-minutes by car from the historic port of Cadiz and its world-class city beaches, but the nearest beach is just 15-minutes drive at El Palmar with miles of undeveloped golden-sand. The nearest airport is just 45-minutes at the sherry-making capital of Jerez also home to the spectacular Horse Fair and a motoGP circuit.
