The accommodation

A 2 bedroom apartment in an area overlooking Ponta do Sol Village. Good panoramic view from the Balcony and Communal Gardens, surrounded with Banana trees and Sugar Cane Plantations.

Good sunny location to stay and, visit other areas of the Island with good access to the road network to the Forest and High Plateau of Paul da Serra.

Short walking distance from local shops, restaurants and cafe, mini-market, pharmacy, bus stop and taxi rank. Pebble beach about 5 minutes walk. Calheta’s golden beach 10 minutes and FunchaL about 25 minutes car journey. To the side of the apartment building there is a communal garden and shared terrace area for outdoor eating.

A few steps away are a municipal tennis court. Palheiro Golf is about 25 minutes journey by car. The Funchal Airport is at 40 min. drive and 20 min from the City Funchal. Taxi Airport transfers from and to the airport can be arranged on request at the time of booking at extra charge paid locally. We recommend renting a car to have more freedom to explore the Island. Taxi and Bus stop are only 5 min walk.

There is a Bus Network please check time tables when you arrive. Excursions around the Island are also available from different tour operators. Flights available from TAP, Easyjet. A small shopping center just a 5 min walk, with local restaurants, takeaway, cafes, mini-market, beauty salon, bank, news agent, Internet access for a small fee.

Setting

The apartment is located in a small building of only 3 floors in the Village of Ponta do Sol in the South of the Island, known as the warmest and Suniest spot. Easy reach using the new Motorway/ Main road. At only 30 min from the Funchal Airport and 20 min from the city of Funchal.

Weekly direct flights from different destinations from Europe, Venezuela and with connections from other worldwide destinations. Flights from TAP, Easyjet, SATA.

Activities and attractions

Nearby is the Village center only 5 min walk from the apartment, where you can find a Pebble Beach, restaurants and cafes, cash machines, Pharmacy and small grocery shop for food essentials. Tennis Court and Museum Joao dos Pasos.

The Calheta's golden sandy beach is a 10 min. drive that offers water sport activities, whale and dolphin watching, paragliding and other amenities specially in the Spring and summer months, The new Museum in Calheta with fantaistic views of the Cliffs and sea.
