The accommodation

Surrounded by creeper jasmine and ivy-clad pergola, among flowers, plants and ancient trees Villa Diana welcomes you.Wide rooms with frescoed ceilings and antique inlaid furniture characterize the ground floor. In addition, Villa Diana offers four comfortable en-suite bedrooms situated on the first floor.
It is an ideal place to enjoy the allure of a Sicily of old times, experience the Barocco Sicliano - Unesco Heritage, and visit Sicily's most important archeological sights.

The two floors villa, with a big front courtyard, is surrounded by vegetation.
The ground floor comprises: a big living room with frescoed ceiling, a wide dining room, an intimate sitting-room ideal for resting. All rooms are furnished with period furniture including fine bookshelves. The newly refurbished kitchen is made of steel, functional, very spacious and airy, where to enjoy cooking in company; it is the only modern touch into a classical style residence.
On the first floor there are four bedrooms: three en-suite and one with a private external bathroom. The 'blue' room, thirties' furniture furnished, has a double bed, and it is also possible to add an extra bed on request. The 'red' room can be arranged as a double or twin with the possibility also to add up to two extra beds. The 'yellow' room has a double bed. The 'green' room can be arranged as double or twin. The two balconies, one at the front the second at the back of the villa, are furnished with iron tables, wicker armchairs, comfortable lounge chairs and parasols. To increase and perfect the 'al fresco' experience Villa Diana provides a big wooden table and a barbecue in the courtyard at the front . It is all set for pleasant summer dinners beneath the stars. Even in the hottest hours of the day it is possible to pleasantly rest in the hammocks into the pinewood's shade.

Setting

Being Caltagirone in the heart of Sicily it is easy and quick to reach many of the region’s interesting sights. Caltagirone is near to places of cultural, historical and natural significance such as Piazza Armerina, volcano Etna, and Scoglitti's beach.
Famous for its old town centre almost totally decorated in ceramics, Caltagirone is known for Santa Maria del Monte staircase, where 142 steps connect the upper to the lower town.
At the end of July, during the celebration of the Holy patron San Giacomo, the staircase is illuminated by thousands of coloured oil lamps that create beautiful draws, every year different.

Villa Diana is approximately 15 minutes walking to the old town centre. However, it would be advisable to have a car to visit the surroundings.
At only two minutes walking, immersed in a pinewoods, is the restaurant/pizzeria Giardino di Bacco where it's possible to enjoy a Mediterranean summer dinner.
At only 20 minutes walking is Scivoli, one of the best patisserie of the area. Here you can indulge local desserts and have a traditional breakfast.
Coria, the best Caltagirone's restaurant, is about 3 km from Villa Diana (five minutes drive). The restaurant gained a Michelin star along with many other prizes which guarantee an high quality of traditional Sicilian cooking, at the same time, combined with modern cuisine.
