The house is situated in a small hamlet at the base of the range of hills known as the Sierra Capelada. The nearest town is Cariño.

In the kitchen, along with a modern cooker, there is an old wood-fired range where the original fireplace used to be. This can be used to prepare traditional Galician dishes. The chairs and table in the kitchen have been restored so that they are in keeping with the authentic style of this typical Galician kitchen.

The bathroom is on the ground floor where the original stables were to be found. This room has been renovated in a modern style using wood and stone.

Upstairs there is a comfortable lounge where you can relax, read and play board games. This room looks out on to the garden with its ancient apple trees and beyond that to the woods and hills. The bedroom is decorated in traditional Galician style including original furniture which has been restored.

Outside the house there is a good sized garden which is ideal for a barbecue.

In and around the local area it is worth visiting the village of San Andrés de Teixido. The drive there takes you along the top of the sea cliffs with beautiful views out to the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian sea. Monte Miranda is nearby which has a lovely picnic spot with fantastic views across the countryside where many wild horses roam.

There are also lots of beaches and coves close by such as those of Cariño and Figueiroa amongst many others. There are lots of opportunities for walking, mushroom picking (at the right time of year !) and fishing.
