Serra da Estrela (Seia, Guarda)
Recomendation..., by: a traveller, 25/Mar/2008.

Average, by: killerig, 26/Apr/2007.
Been there twice. Arinsal is basically two blue runs that runs parallel, very monotonous if you have any kind of ability. Pal is alot better but went in mid/late jan this year and it was all man made snow and most of pal was closed, very dissapointing, I wont be going back

Serra da Estrela (Seia, Guarda)
Portugal is NOT a ski country. Welcome to our beaches and golf courses!, by: a traveller, 23/Nov/2006.
This ski resort is suitable for learning on weekdays because it is completely full on weekends. Not good for pros. The only resort in Portugal. So please leave it for those who can't go anywhere else.... [See more]

Vallter 2000 (Camprodon, Girona)
Fantastic blue run, by: a traveller, 20/Feb/2006.
It is a very small resort, but fine for a day skiing and easy to get to from Girona and Barcelona. It also has one of prettiest blue runs I know. Friendly and good teaching staff, and ideal nursery slopes. Take your own sandwiches - as food in restaurants is very bad.

La Pinilla (Cerezo de Arriba, Segovia)
Teriffic Little Resort, by: rmaxwell, 10/Feb/2006.
La Pinilla is great for a day ski from Madrid. It took 2 hours to get our passes and get up the mountain at the weekend. The runs are great with very little crowding. Highly recommended if you cannot get further afield.

Sierra Nevada (Monachil, Granada)
Good For a Few Days, by: rmaxwell, 10/Feb/2006.
Sierra Nevada is a terrific resort to spend 2-3 days skiing but bewarned the queue to get up the mountain at the weekend is MENTAL. The red runs over the back of the mountain are really steep in places.... [See more]

Valgrande Pajares (Lena, Asturias)
Family skiing, by: a traveller, 10/Feb/2006.
Apart from from the "guardia civil" we enjoyed the resort, mostly friendly faces on the lifts and restaurants. Unless you expect too much from a resort at that altitude and location, you can not go wrong. Peter and Family.

Serra da Estrela (Seia, Guarda)
Disappointing..., by: a traveller, 07/Nov/2005.
Expensive, extremelly small and monotonous. Almost all tracks are parallel, as if they were only 1 or 2. It's a pity that this is the only one in Portugal...

Serra da Estrela (Seia, Guarda)

beautiful

Great learners paradise!, by: a traveller, 10/Jun/2005.
First time on the slopes was made easy in the resort with plenty of gentle slopes. Apres ski is OK but not special, cheap to eat and drink out. Long drive from airport.
