Broadband Wifi via ADSL, a smart TV & DVD player, sofas and coffee table next to a welcoming fire place. Book shelf with books, including walking/travel guides and maps of the local mountains. Spectacular mountain views.

We have 2,000m2 of garden & terraces with olive trees and fragrant holm oaks, from which you can while away the day enjoying some spectacular mountain views.
The main garden terrace is 140m2 and surrounded by a low fence that keeps small kids from walking away. In addition, there is a convenient kitchen terrace with sunblind for dining, and a covered section of the terrace so you can sit outside even if it's rainy. There is an outdoor barbecue (although permission is required from the local town council during summer months).
We provide outdoor lounge- and dining-tables, sunshade, sun-loungers, garden chairs, a hammock... so just put your feet up, enjoy the scenery and let the birdsong wash away the stresses of daily life.
GARAGE & PARKING
We have our own locked garage with space for a single car. In addition, there is plentiful on-street parking at no cost, including a private cul-de-sac road next to the house.
Cotos de Monterrey is a peaceful and safe location. We do have a connected security alarm system served by Securitas, which will usually be deactivated during your stay. However, we can make the alarm available for you to activate should you wish.
Our villa is located in "Cotos de Monterrey", a secure, gated community of over 400 houses near the village of Venturada. Easily accessible from Madrid (30 minutes via the A1 motorway), Cotos de Monterrey offers tennis, basketball and padel courts, an indoor gym, a small supermarket, local cafe/restaurant, church and pharmacy. And during the summer months there are 3 delightful communal swimming pools, which make a great place to relax, enjoy a dip and some tapas.
To make the most of your stay, we strongly recommend you bring your own car or rent at Madrid airport, as public transport options are limited in Cotos de Monterrey.
Activities and attractions
Year round, there are plenty of hiking opportunities in the lovely Sierra Norte and Sierra de Guadarrama, with watersports, horse-riding and golf nearby, and of course day trips to Madrid (30 minutes' drive to the Plaza de Castilla).
You can also make easy day trips to some fine Castillian historical sites like Manzanares el Real, El Escorial, Valle de los Caidos, Buitrago de Lozoya, El Paular (Rascafría), Segovia, San Idelfonso de la Granja, Pedraza, Sepúlveda ... as well as the area to the south of Madrid: Aranjuez, Chinchón, Toledo.
The local villages of Torrelaguna, Patones de Arriba and Guadalix de la Sierra are well worth a visit, and if you decide to come and stay we will recommend some excellent local restaurants.
