The accommodation

This is the renovated old dairy and milking parlour of a traditional Brittany longere, hence the name 'The Dairy'.
The modern newly restored gite has a large combined kitchen/living area, and two spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and bunk beds. There is also a family bathroom which includes a separate shower cubicle. The gite can sleep 6; there is also a travel cot available as well as high chair and stair gate for babies. The kitchen area has an electric cooker, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. There is free wifi throughout.
In the lounge area there are leather settees and English satellite television.
Outside is a large garden with a private terrace with garden furniture and barbecue. There is private parking at the front of the house.

Setting

The setting is in a peaceful rural area; the garden is enclosed and surrounded by fields and it is an ideal area for walking and cycling. The local bar/restaurant/boulangerie is within walking distance in La Fontenelle and the nearby town of Antrain has a supermarket and other shops: pharmacies, newsagent, bank etc.

Activities and attractions

There is much to do in the area. Just 2km away is a leisure lake with boating, pony rides, treetop assault course, restaurant and walks. Also very near is the Chateau de la Ballue with wonderful gardens and Chareau de la Rouerie with a wildlife park. It is near to the beaches of St Malo and Dinard, to the shops and markets of Rennes, the castle at Fougeres and beautiful medieval Dinan on the river Rance. There is a theme park with rides nearby at Epiniac, and at Pontorson there is Alligator Bay, an amazing collection of reptiles. It is very near Mont St Michel which has been turned back into an island and is a wonderful visit. There is golf nearby.
