The accommodation

Casa do Olival (which means Olive tree House) is located in Figueiró dos Vinhos, a charming old village located in the center of Portugal - 45 kms from Coimbra, 50 Kms from Tomar, 180 Kms from Lisbon and 160 Kms from the border with Spain.
Recently restored, the house is surrounded by a small garden and located in the middle of an olive grove, about 3000 m2, where there are also some fruit trees.
The place is extremely quiet and perfect for families or groups of friends that are looking for a weekend or a holiday in a comfortable and cozy space.
Casa do Olival has an ample outdoor space, which allows to enjoy outdoor meals, barbecues and games.
Despite the quiet and peaceful rural environment that can be enjoyed here, it is only a 7 minutes walking distance from the center of the village where we can find restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and points of cultural interest.

Ground floor: kitchen, dining and living room and toilet.
Outdoors, there is backyard and a porch with a grill.
Upper floor: 3 bedrooms (2 with double bed and 1 with two single beds) and 1 bathroom (with bathtub).
Kitchen equipment: gas stove and gas water heater, microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, kitchenware, crockery, cutlery, iron and ironing board.

The maximum capacity of the dwelling is a total of 6 people.

Setting

Guests can visit Figueiró dos Vinhos and its historical and cultural heritage. The municipal tourism office organizes free guided tours to different places of interest, such as Casulo and Museum/Arts Center.
The “Rede das Aldeias do Xisto” (Shale Villages Network) defines a set of villages formed by houses of traditional architecture, built predominantly with Shale. One of the most beautiful is “Casal de S. Simão” and is located 8 Kms from Figueiró dos Vinhos.
The reservoirs of Castelo do Bode (8 km) and Cabril (18 km) are great for water sports, canoeing or fishing. The area also offers pleasant river beaches such as Aldeia de Ana de Avis (2 km), Fragas de S. Simão (7 km) and Praia das Rocas (15 km).
Coimbra and Tomar, near Figueiró dos Vinhos, are classified by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.

- Figueiró dos Vinhos has several restaurants (that offer traditional cuisine delicacies), such as various bakeries, pastry shops and cafes.
- Groceries and supermarkets: Casa do Olival is 5-minute walk from the nearest grocery store and 7-minute walk from the nearest supermarket. On Saturdays the weekly market is held with local products such as vegetables, fruit, bread, fish, meat, and flowers.
- In the village there are several terraces, parks and other outdoor social spaces.
