Casa Muñecas is a charming renovated town house, located in the historic center of the mountain village of Canillas de Aceituno, just 50 km east of Malaga. You have Andalusia's largest national park, Sierra Nevada, located in the backyard - one of Spain's most beautiful areas, with many hiking trails, breathtaking views, mountain hikes, bike paths and unique scenery.

Casa Muñecas, meaning the dollhouse, has been refurbished with gentle touches and has maintained its Spanish character. The house has two floors, a large roof terrace and a charming courtyard. The house is located centrally in the historic center, just behind the town hall. Here is quiet and quiet as the street is only for walking, but still you have quite a short distance to restaurants, bars, shops and city life.

The house is unique via its artistic décor and a large open kitchen with easy access to the cozy patio. Also, the roof terrace is unique in its size but also via the many plants and flowers. Here is also a laundry section, a smaller outdoor kitchen and the view is breathtaking - the Mediterranean in the distance, the village, the beautiful mountains and a bit of the Vinuela lake. On a clear day you can see the Atlas mountains in Morocco.

The house has virtually all amenities. There is air conditioning in all rooms, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, etc. On our own website - - we have described the house and the area further. Here you will find suggestions for sightseeing, where the best beaches are, festivals and parties in the area, etc. And otherwise just ask. We have an in-depth knowledge of the village as well as the Costa del Sol and are happy to help.

About the neighborhood
The town of Canillas de Aceituno extends along the slopes of the Sierra Tejada to the La Maroma peak, the highest in the province of Málaga. Founded in the Al-Ándalus period, the town conserves its Arabic roots through the layout of its streets and various interesting architectural sights. This historical legacy means Canillas de Aceituno forms part of the Mudéjar Route, which has been declared of Tourist Interest in Andalusia.

Getting around
Although it is recommended to have a car you can easily do without. There is a regular bus service run by Aoutobuses Carlos from Canillas to Velez AND Malaga. This is useful for getting to and from Velez on weekdays and also for getting to the airport. The bus stop is opposite La Maroma but they will also pick up by Adorin’s shop and by the olive oil factory. The service (timing based on La Maroma) is as follows: Monday - 7:30 and 16:00 directly to Malaga via Velez-Malaga bus station. Tuesday to Thursday - 7:30 and 16:00 to Velez-Malaga bus station only. Friday - 7:30 and 16:00 directly to Malaga via Velez-Malaga bus station. Saturday – 9:10 directly to Malaga.

How to get there
When you get out of the airport, you come to a roundabout. You drive through this roundabout (turn at exit 2) and then there is a bridge right in front of you and on your right side, the brewery San Miguel. Drive across the bridge and on the highway leading you up the coast. After approx. 1.5 km - you have the car company Renault on your left - turn to A-7, which goes towards the city of Granada. From here it is right until you reach the coastal town of Velez-Malaga. The exit from the motorway is No. 272, and the sign says 'Velez Malaga, A-356' From the A-7 you come down to a roundabout, and before you drive the final stretch, you can shop in the large El Ingenio shopping mall, with lots of different shops and a large supermarket where you can buy almost everything. They have many delicious things! - A section with fresh fish and fresh meat, books, milk, cheese and many other treats. Once you've done your shopping, it's up the A-356. After approx. 10 km you can see a sign - Canillas de Aceituno - on your right. This part of the journey offers impressive views of the mountainous landscape and the steep hills where olive, almond, figs and vines are scattered. When you reach Canillas de Aceituno, you drive right into the city center and stop at the town hall in the square. You walk up the stairs next to the town hall and continue straight ahead in the street Calle Consejo, which turns to the right and after another 10 meters on your left hand there is a picturesque little street with lots of beautiful flowers. Walk up this small street and after 12 steps are your holiday townhouse.
