GLICINE Apartment in a NO KIDS farm house

The accommodation

it's THE BRIGHTEST, but no windows oriented in east, here you can wake up late! The apartment remains very fresh in midsummer too, thanks to the large windows that you can always keep open; The view is also magnificent: from the bedroom the Monti Pisani, the two lakes near us and the fields; from the kitchen the swimming pool and our large garden .. and in summer to eat al fresco just go to the picnic area under the gazebo!
First floor, 38 sqm, double bedroom + single bed; kitchen (with fridge and freezer, 4 gas hobs, utensils and pots, cutlery, plates and glasses. Microwave) + living room with sofa bed; toilet and shower; independent heating system; air conditioning (only in the bedroom); mosquito nets to all the windows. WI-FI. There’s no TV in the apartment; guests are allowed to bring here them own TV, if they want to.
Table for 5 inside and possibility to eat outside under the gazebo, on the back of the building (dining area shared with the other guests).There are neither dishwasher, nor iron, nor washing machine; guests are allowed to use the washing tube to wash by hands, or to go to a coin laundry in the nearby. We have drying racks, which are at all guests’ disposal, it is not possible to have a personal one.

Setting

NO KIDS ALLOWED. Minimum age 14 years old.

The property is a 10-minute drive from Pisa and consists of 7 apartments.

Outside there is a large garden with a swimming pool (seasonal; shared with the other guests), and an outdoor parking, uncovered.

We own 1 little dog & 6 cats, very friendly & polite; these pets are allowed to walk in our garden.

Activities and attractions

Supermarket: the nearest is called “pam” in fornacette (piazza kolbe) 3 minutes far from here. This supermarket is open from 7.30 am to 8.30 pm everyday from monday to saturday and on sunday from 9.00 am to 7.30 pm.

Open-air market: in cascina every thursday from 8.00 a.M to 1.00 p.M in corso matteotti; in pontedera every friday from 8.00 a.M to 1.00 p.M in piazza del mercato, next to cineplex. There you can find clothes, shoes & tuscanian food.

Bowling: in fornacette, via tosco-romagnola 127; open from tuesday to sunday

pisa: (14 km far from here) you can park the car in the free car parking: park brennero and take the bus “navetta e lungarni” that comes every 15 minutes and stops you directly in piazza dei miracoli. The price of the ticket is € 1,30. You can also go there by walk, towards west, on via contessa matilde (next to the ancient walls).

Lucca: the best its the panoramic road. Follow the signs for bientina, then for cascine di buti, then continue towards lucca. Park the car in viale regina margherita, the ticket cost 10 cents for the 1st hour, then 1 € for the 2nd and the 3rd
20 km far from lucca, we recommend borgo a mozzano, a wonderful medieval town in garfagnana with it’s famous bridge: ponte del diavolo.

Firenze: you can go there by train or by car. If you go by train use pontedera-casciana terme station. The train leaves every 15 minutes and takes 45 minutes to arrive in florence. Your stop is in firenze santa maria novella. By car: take fi-pi-li and follow the signs for firenze. Park the car in viale francesco talenti, then take the tram (leaves every 10 minutes) and exit at the last stop, in firenze santa maria novella. In barberino di mugello (10 minutes far from firenze; take a1 towards firenze-bologna and exit in barberino di mugello) there is the ‘city of outlets’: clothes & shoes shops of the most famous italian brands on sale!

medieval towns to visit: vicopisano (5 km far from here; free guided walk tour every friday afternoon), palaia (25 km far from here; free guided walk tour every tuesday morning), san miniato (30 km far from here), vinci (the town in which leonardo was born; 40 km far from here) volterra (47 km far from here), san gimignano (56 km far from here), castelnuovo di garfagnana (71 km far from here, north from lucca), monteriggioni (87 km far from here), siena (103 km far from here), buon convento (128 km far from here), cortona (chosen as location for the famous movie ‘under the tuscan sun’ 170 km far from here).

Sea: the nearest beaches are in tirrenia & in marina di pisa. In follonica & in torre mozza there are beautiful beaches, the sea is very clean and in front of you there’s elba island (where napoleon was exiled). In vada there are the “white beaches” called in this way because of the clarity of the sand. In calafuria there is the most suggestive reef in tuscany. And in viareggio and forte dei marmi there are some good shops; those places were famous in the ‘60s and have been chosen as location for some movies.
