House in Furnas - St. Michael's Island - Azores

We had a two hour wait on the tarmac before we even started our Halloween trip to the Azores. All we could think of if our ride would still be there when we arrive two hours late. Once we arrived everything became perfect Francisco was waiting with our sign to drive us to our house. The house was just perfect the pictures don't show how when you walk in you can feel the warm atmosphere, There was a nice front porch to sit and watch the local people go by or to buy your fresh bread delivered every morning. There was two back porches a upper and lower fruit trees and fire place the whole house was excellent just what we wanted. the whole week was great the town is beautiful friendly people very nice village.the is a trip and house you should really think about.guess what guys even seen a football game it was great. Lovely house. Very clean. Outside space is very nice. The basket with products of te region is a nice touch. I couldn't find it on the website but there is free wifi. The village is quite big, But the nearest shop is at ten minutes (walking time), the bus stop and thermal pool are even closer at 5 minutes. Very attentive owner/host. He will pick you up from the airport, if you want, and drives you to furnas and he will show you around so you know where everything is. He will drive you back to the airport at the end of the stay and if there is time he will do a bit of sightseeing, if you wish. He enjoys meeting people from other countries. Furnas is a great and beautiful place to stay with its position in a caldera, green surroundings, the thermal pools, terra nostra park, the boiling mudpools and the lake. Enough to do for 1 week: I walked to Ribeira Quente (beach with hot watersource), to Povoacao (return with public bus), around lake furnas (incuding pico do ferro for the view), I walked to lovely lagoa do fogo (public bus to and from agua de alto). Walked around Maia at the north side (transport with public bus). I used the rother en sunflower walking guides for the walks. I enjoyed my week here very much. I recommend it to others,

We stayed in the house for 2 days and we absolutely enjoyed it! The house is nicely decorated in rural style, spotlessly clean and cozy. The only thing we were missing was a hairdryer - but that's not a big problem :) The location is perfect for exploring the eastern part of Sao Miguel, unfortunately we didn't have enough time for it and managed to see only some basic points (which were also marvellous though!). Francisco and his wife are great hosts, we highly recommend their house. P.S. For the future guests: it was pretty cold and we couldn't use the charming patio, but if the weather allows you, use it! As much as you can ;)
