Our family of three stayed at Lisboa Patria for three weeks in March. The apartment is spacious and incredibly well equipped. Music, books, travel/tourist information, wine, wifi-internet, kitchen utensils, washing machine & clothesline - you name it, the apartment had everything you needed. The host, Miguel, was delightful and helpful - available for questions throughout our stay. We found the location ideal (on the outer edge of Alfama). Not in the center of the tourist crowds or the business bustle - but a quick walk to the metro and only two stops from downtown. We also rode the bus home at times. Street parking is also reasonable if you are driving. The area was very safe at night (as is the majority of Lisbon). The twice-weekly flea market is just around the corner and we walked to both the excellent viewpoints of Graca and the Azulejo Museum from the apartment. A grocery store at the metro station and the restaurant two doors down were both regular stops for our family during our visit. The building does not have an elevator (lift) and the apartment is on the (american) third (and a half) floor. Hauling the luggage up was a bear, but the daily climb was fine. We were there in March, so we can´t speak what the apartment is like in the summer heat, but that might be something to ask about.
