It is the largest and oldest national park in Croatia. Between Mala Kapela and Plešivica, there 16 great lakes and numerous smaller lakes, connected by waterfalls of various sizes, through which the Korana river continues its path to Karlovac . Visitors can travel through the park on electric trains and boats to various destinations, from which they can continue the tour walking through narrow paths, crossing wooden bridges on the edge of the water.
The park is open year round and it its summer visits are common for observation of the color changes experienced by the water throughout the day, however admiring the frozen waterfalls in winter is also a very interesting option.
