The accommodation

A pre 1950's house newly renovated a nice mixture of old Portuguese style with a morden twist. Entering the house into the halway with its traditional portuguese tiles , you will find 3 bedrooms 1 twin, 1 double & 1 king all have ceiling cooling fans, heating , dressing table, Clothes hanging area and draws , All 100 % cotten sheets & all windows have shutters. With 2 bathrooms , bathroom 2 is set as a wet room complete with a massive shower area , Bathroom 1 has a Lovley Stand alone bath, both bathrooms have cotten towels, and toiletries. At the end of the halway you enter into an open plan Kitchen , dinning & lounge area, the Kitchen has full Cooker, 4 place induction Hob, Fridge freezer, Dishwasher, Microwave, coffe machine, toaster & Kettle, complete with all cook & table ware. ( The round table is suitable to seat 6, the lounge area has a large corner sofa, Smart T.V ( suitable for fire sticks with cable T,V . There is also a portable blue tooth speaker and free Wifi. through the large doulble patio doors there is a cute garden court yard complete with Hot tub /splash pool, wether you want to relax your muscle's with the jets under the stars , or sip a cocktail and cool of from the sun this is a beautiful place to be . from here you will find the steps up to the roof top terrace offering alfresco dinning, barbecue/pizza oven, seating area & sun beds to soak up that hot Portugal sun, with a lovley veiw of the historic town, river & country side. with such a choice of resturants. bars, cafe's , Silves market, Castle ,historic sites, & calander of festivals all within a 2-10 minute walk you will be spoilt for choice, the closet beach is about 15 - 20 mins drive . Silves also has a great bus ,train & taxi service so very easy to explor other area's a car is not required, however if you do have a car there is plenty of free car parking around the house

Silves is a Historic town that was originally the ancient capital of the Algarve,
During the Morrish era ( 9-12th century) Silves was a major stronghold and important trading center, From Solid red-brick castle, The Moores defended the entire region, while from the harbour, boats sailed down the Arade River to trade with North africia.
Today Silves is peaceful and un hurried, but remaants of this illustrious past can be seen scatterd throughout the town, this includes the imposing Castelo de Silves fortified gateway and Gothic Cathedral.

Activities and attractions

Silves for a safe and small town has many events throughout the year including the Orange festival, Corn Festival, Beer Festival and is home to the Largest festival in Portugal The Medieval Fair During the nine day festival Silves is taken back to the Middle ages in a Historical recreation Reconquest era, the city will be invaded by Characters from the distant past including Jugglers, acrobats, dancers, snake charmers, Jousting tournemnets & artisans a Street food and markets ( only 10 Euro's for a 9 day arm band )
