The accommodation

The Casas do Moinho (Mill Houses) are located about 1 km from the other houses and the communal swimming pool.

Here you can listen to the silence of nature and contemplate the stars.

The Casas do Moinho have different characteristics from the other houses, as they are much larger and have a magical natural setting.

The Casa do Moinho Este has one bedroom, a bathroom with a bathtub and outdoor shower, a large living room with a fireplace, and a kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals.

This house has a small private pool and you will also have free access to the communal pool of the Casas de Campo do Castro da Cola.

In this house, it is possible to add an extra bed and/or use the sofa bed as an extra bed.

Setting

This house was rebuilt next to the ruins of an old watermill on the banks of the Mira River.
Located in the heart of the Alentejo, on a slope of the Mira River, this space is a privileged location due to its magnificent landscape and surrounding environment.
The houses of Castro da Cola are located next to the Castro da Cola archaeological circuit, an important archaeological site classified as a national monument. Discover the culture of other peoples who passed through here more than eight thousand years ago.
To learn more about this space, you can count on the help of the Reception and Interpretation Center located on site.
Next to it is the church of Nossa Senhora da Cola, a sanctuary that receives one of the largest pilgrimages in this region.

Activities and attractions

In this surprising oasis in the Alentejo landscape, we are invited to listen to the birdsong, the flowing water of the river, or simply find the tranquility of nature.
Nature invites rest, but also discovery.
Hiking:
Find tranquility on the banks of the Mira River where you can take a walk. All the trails are good for getting lost in thought or sharing moments and conversations.
Bicycle tours:
We provide bicycles for you to explore the region. Enter the magnificent countryside by bike, discover the scents of the Alentejo and feel the breeze of nature far from the pollution and hustle and bustle of big cities.
Birdwatching:
There are several resident birds in this corner of the Alentejo. If we are attentive, we can identify many of those that fly over these fields.
Jeep tour:
Take advantage of your stay to take a ride in an all-terrain jeep and explore the Alentejo in a more adventurous way.
Kayaking:
Embark on an adventure and discover the hidden corners of the reservoir on a kayaking tour offered to our guests.
Boat Trip:
We provide the opportunity to navigate the calm waters of the Santa Clara Dam.
Let yourself be enchanted by these landscapes on a boat trip in the morning or afternoon.
Sport Fishing:
We are tempted to venture into the arms of the Mira River and the Santa Clara Dam where, if you accept the challenge, you can go sport fishing.
Horseback Riding:
Set off on an adventure, at a walk or trot, and get to know the fields and people of the Alentejo region. If you prefer, you can start with a riding lesson to build up the courage for a longer ride on a future occasion.
