The accommodation

"Slow Time" because it's natural, unconventional, and free from constraints or obligations. Here, life follows the rhythm of the sun and moon, not clocks.
Guests have free use of a Bookcrossing library, secure bike storage, and an e-bike charging station. Some bicycles are available free of charge. The stone house offers a terraced courtyard with a barbecue and wood-burning oven, comfortable living spaces on two floors, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, a fully equipped kitchen with an espresso machine, modern amenities, and free Wi-Fi.
Upon your arrival, you'll find a basket of fruit, pasta, bread, oil, and coffee, and for stays of at least seven nights, a bottle of wine and a jar of honey produced by the Il Pungiglione Social Cooperative, which we support with part of your rent.

Setting

Villecchia is a small hilltop village in Lunigiana, northern Tuscany, located 400 meters above sea level. Less than 20 residents live among carefully restored stone houses. It's 10 km from the motorway and 70 km from Pisa Airport.

Activities and attractions

Because we don't simply want to rent homes, but rather offer opportunities for meaningful experiences and discoveries, for 2026 we're offering a variety of free activities: foraging, a biodynamic garden, hiking, and herbal medicine.
Guests staying three nights can choose one activity, while those staying seven nights can choose two from the available options.
Located within the Apennine Biosphere Reserve, far from mass tourism, Villecchia is a peaceful place accessible by foot, bicycle, bus, or car, about 10 km from the Val Magra. In half an hour, you can reach the Cinque Terre National Park and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park, both very popular, but if you wish, we can suggest how and where to visit them in complete solitude.
Around the house are streams, trails, the historic Via Marchesana, and cycle paths. If you're lucky, you might spot porcupines, wild boars, foxes, badgers, and hawks, as well as wolves, which live permanently in our valley and we can easily find signs of their presence.
And then we're in Lunigiana: hundreds of small villages and castles, waiting to be explored at a leisurely pace.
