House only 400 meters from the beach

We spent our holiday in Pedrena in October. Pedrena is a very quiet place and far away from noisy towns (just 20 minutes from Airport). The Owners of this property were very nice, helpful people! They came to the airport to help us get to the Pedrena.The house very lovely, clean and full equipped and enough spaces for four families. Around the house was a beautiful garden with fruit trees. We could eate fresh figs( as many as we wanted ) the owners also gave us gifts- a few homemade jars of jam (very delicious) and fresh eggs from their chickens. Our children had great fun in the garden. The terrace outside was the most important place during the whole holiday! We were eating and sitting there untill very late at night. We had very nice weather. Every day was sunshine. The best place for us was the beach in Somo!! This beach was amazing with golden sand and turquoise water!! Teraz po Polsku. Było rewelacyjnie. Dom w pełni wyposażony. Wlasciciele bardzo pomocni i przemili.Polecamy to miejsce na rodzinne wczasy z dala od hałasu i od dużych miast. Do najbliższego sklepu mieliśmy minutę a do najbliższej plaży tak około 10 minut. Ale zauroczyła nas plaża znjadująca w innej miejscowość! Droga z dziećmi zajmowała nam około 25 minut wiec nie bylo tak źle.

Set in the quiet village of Pedrena, with views over the nearby golf course (of Seve Ballesteros fame), the church tower and the estuary to Santander, this house caters for a lot of people at a very good price. Its well kept gardens behind a stone wall give privacy and... make it very difficult to take pictures of the outside of the house. Rest assured, this does not mean you are in for a nasty surprise, it just means you cant really get an angle on the house! The overdecked terrace outside was a very important place for us to eat and relax. Let's face it, in hot countries, the outside space is more important than inside. The friendly owners live nextdoor and delighted us with gifts of fresh eggs from their chickens. Communication in English was possible only via their very obliging and ever helpful son. We really appreciated his help here. The beaches mentioned at 400m from the house are beautiful to stroll along and enjoy the views of the mountains and Santander over the water, but they are estuary beaches and not beaches to chill on. Just 5 minutes by car,however, is the lovely beach at Somo, one of many great stretches of golden sand along this coast. If there is a downpoint, it would be the absence of a kettle to boil water, which you of course could just bring from home, and a damp feel to one of the downstairs appartments. Upstairs, was fine and well aired. We stayed here in August with 3 grandparents, 4 teenagers, my husband and I.
