Cozy apartment in Poris de Abona Tenerife

3 of us stayed in this excellent apartment for a week. It has everything you need, fully equipped kitchen (we cooked most of our own evening meals), plenty of towels, bed linen and blankets. It's not huge, but plenty of space for 3-4 people. Shower was powerful and very warm so long as short gap left between showers. There's a swimming pool 10 metres away, parking in secure car park, and good supermarket 200m walk away. The town itself was quiet in January, with a couple of restaurants and we didn't go to the little beach. The location is very convenient if you have a car. Just 2 minutes from the main motorway. The South airport's just 20 minutes down this and Santa cruz 40 minutes in the other direction. For climbing, it's ideal, with lots of bouldering in Poris itself, just 5 minutes in car in land under motorway and great <a href="http://vimeo.com/channels/tenerifeelporis">sports climbing</a> near Villa de Arico, which is only 15-20 mins away in car (but make sure you get good directions, as there's several towns with variations on the name of 'Arico' close to one another!). We found the grading relatively hard, but there is a good mix of routes for wide range of levels. Certainly the best easier stuff is in Arico gorge as opposed to other climbing spots we visited in Tenerife (Laguna and Las Canadas). And the weather was perfect all week - 20-25 degrees sunny/cloudy, no rain for whole week in middle of January! Also the landlady Paula was very helpful, she met us on arrival, showed us around the flat, which was extremely clean, and got back to me quickly when I emailed to make arrangements to give back keys at the end of the week (I hadn't been sure what time I would leave on the last day). I highly recommend this flat.
