The accommodation

Country house located in the municipality of Cómpeta with शानदार views of the Sierra Tejeda and Almijara Natural Park. From the pool, you can see the villages of Cómpeta and Canillas de Albaida, as well as the summit of La Maroma.

It is located 2.1 km from the village, with the entire route paved except for 200 metres of track in very good condition.

The house is set on a private plot of 2,700 square metres and features a large 400-square-metre parking area, a 150-square-metre terrace, and an 8x4 metre swimming pool. The interior layout consists of: a living-dining room with fireplace and 32" LCD TV, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, sound system..., three bedrooms—one with a double bed and en-suite bathroom, a second with two single beds, and a third with three single beds—plus another bathroom and an outdoor toilet.

The distance to the beach is 16 km, to the airport 52 km, and to the natural park 3 km.

The property offers all amenities, including mosquito screens on all windows, a large outdoor barbecue, and a gated entrance.

Setting

The municipality of Cómpeta, which spreads its whitewashed houses—typical of Andalusian villages—across a rugged landscape in the southwest of the Tejeda and Almijara mountain range, offers visitors a wide range of attractions, both due to its geographical setting and its historical, architectural heritage and the customs of its people, who still preserve the legacy of their ancestors.

The town’s streets, almost all with steps and steep slopes, offer visitors a multicoloured panorama formed by a multitude of flowers that contrast with the white limewash, presenting itself as a white patch embedded in the Almijara mountains.

Wine Night is the quintessential festival; since 1973, the traditional Wine Night has been held every 15 August, declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Andalusia. This celebration reflects the culture and spirit of the Andalusian people. It originates from the farewell of the farmers as they prepared to spend the summer season in the fields harvesting the vineyards. This festival pays tribute to these farmers who, year after year, provide us with their most prized produce: grapes and, from them, wine. The Cómpeta Town Council officially recognised this celebration in 1973, and in 1999 it was declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia. Events begin with the traditional grape treading in the Plaza de la Vendimia, accompanied by dances and fandangos, followed by a free lunch of migas, and in the evening a flamenco festival in Plaza de la Almijara.

Activities and attractions

Among the leisure activities available in the area, the following stand out: horse riding, guided walks through the mountains (enquire at the tourist office), swimming in the village’s heated pool (all year round), and visits to picturesque spots such as the Nerja Caves (20 km), the cliffs of Maro and Burriana beach, and leisure facilities (the El Ingenio shopping centre, which has a large supermarket and 10 cinema screens).
