The accommodation
This villa (local lodging license AL 34396) has a wonderful view towards Sintra mountains and monuments like the Moorish Castle and Monserrate Palace. It has 4 bedrooms and a private heated swimming pool. It is situated in a very quiet and peaceful area. It has 1000 m2 of a great cared garden with fruit trees and beautiful flowers. It has a south facing veranda and an outdoor covered eating area. It has wireless internet.
A tram line connects Sintra-Praia das Maçãs, which can be taken in 5 min.
In Sintra you will find shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, a theater and a museum. Approximately 6 kms from several white sand beaches like Praia Grande, with various surfing schools and Praia das Maçãs with various fish and seafood restaurants, cafés, bars, discotheques as well as shops selling local crafts.
Both beaches have sea water pools with all facilities. Two other wonderful beaches are Praia da Adraga, 6km from the house, voted the most beautiful in Europe in 2003 and Praia da Aguda (3 km long and unspoiled). You can walk to Sintra in 20min. through a calm trail.

The pool is electrically heated to 27 degrees from Easter to the end of October, not in the winter months.

great house, great vacation
We have just returned after a nine -day family reunion at the Casa Monserrate: two families from Israel and one from the US. We were a party of 11, including 5 children, who enjoyed running around the garden, having tennis tournaments and playing in the heated pool. The house is very functional. There are four bedrooms in the villa but one has a separate entrance. The fifth bedroom is in an annex. No one from our family slept there but we used it as the kids' "clubhouse" to their great pleasure (and ours, when we wanted a bit of quiet). All the appliances and BBQ worked perfectly and Antonio gave us plenty of info.Warmly recommended .
