The accommodation

Sea-view apartment in a high-quality building, elegant and functional, tastefully furnished, and flooded with natural light. Less than five minutes’ walk to the beach.

Located on the most beautiful palm-lined avenue, directly opposite the 5★ Algarve Casino Hotel, in the best neighbourhood of Praia da Rocha.
Spacious bedroom with a double bed, open-plan American-style kitchen, and living room with a sofa featuring two separate proper beds with quality mattresses (not folding beds). One bathroom with a bathtub and a lovely terrace with table and chairs, perfect for enjoying the sunset.

Modern furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen, including microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, grill pan, and all essential kitchenware. Air conditioning in both the living room and bedroom, modern smart TV, fast Wi-Fi, and cable TV with international channels. Indoor shared parking space included. Pet-friendly, for trained pets only.

Setting

Situated directly in front of the beach and less than a 5-minute walk to the sand. A car is not necessary, as everything is within walking distance. However, shared parking is available in the building for those who need it.

The area is central yet peaceful, with shops, cafés, a wide variety of excellent restaurants, a pharmacy, taxi rank and supermarket all just a few minutes away on foot. The surroundings are calm and quiet, the building is always well maintained, and the neighbours are friendly.

Praia da Rocha is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve, known for its crystal-blue sea, clean golden sand and impressive rock formations that give the landscape its unique charm. A wooden promenade runs along the beach, ideal for long walks or runs.

The Marina is only a short walk away and offers breathtaking ocean views, the historic Santa Catarina Fortress, a small sheltered bay for swimming, excellent restaurants and the famous ocean-water pool NoSoloÁgua, which also hosts events and parties. From the Marina, you can enjoy panoramic views towards Ferragudo Castle and explore the coastline by boat.
Several other stunning beaches are nearby, including Praia do Vau, Praia do Alemão, and one of the area’s highlights and my favourite, Praia dos Três Irmãos.

Activities and attractions

This central neighbourhood offers shops, cafés, a wide variety of restaurants, a pharmacy, taxi stop, supermarket, and bakery – all within a few minutes’ walk. The area is calm and quiet, with no loud noises or music. The building is well maintained, and neighbours are friendly.

Praia da Rocha is one of the Algarve’s most stunning beaches. Its extensive golden sands and beautiful rock formations give it a unique charm. The blue sea is clean and inviting, perfect for long walks along the wooden trail or a run. The Marina is just minutes away, offering breathtaking ocean views. Here you can visit the Santa Catarina Fortress, a small swimming bay, excellent restaurants, and the well-known oceanic pool filled with seawater. Right next door is “NoSoloAgua,” a beach bar hosting summer parties, including 80s-themed parties. From the Marina, you can enjoy panoramic views of Ferragudo Castle and nearby beaches, or explore the area by public boat. Nearby beaches include Praia do Vau, Praia do Alemão, and one of my personal favourites, Praia dos 3 Irmãos.
A lovely children’s playground is just a four-minute walk from the apartment, right on the beach. Several golf courses are located only a few kilometres away.

In addition to superb beaches, the area offers golf, kayaking, windsurfing, surfing, kite surfing, fishing, diving, sailing, rowing, and other water sports.

The 5★ Casino opposite the apartment provides plenty of entertainment, with performances, shows, and concerts – check the calendar outside the Casino for details. For car enthusiasts, the international Autódromo do Algarve offers the chance to drive amazing sports cars.

Praia da Rocha features numerous sea-view cafés and restaurants, as well as bars and live music venues. Just a couple of minutes away, Hotel Jupiter offers live music, a good buffet and a wonderful spa with an indoor pool and hydromassage jets, which is highly recommended.

Portimão hosts a large local market with fresh fruits, vegetables, and fish – a great experience for seafood lovers. Museums, theatres, cinemas, and two shopping centres (with large supermarkets) are just a couple of kilometres away. Tennis and paddle courts are nearby, and local trail groups organise walks along the coast and countryside to enjoy nature and birdwatching. The Monchique mountain range offers breathtaking views, traditional cuisine, and charming restaurants in the Serra de Monchique.

For family fun, the indoor Aquashow Waterpark (including a large spa) is open year-round. Other Algarve waterparks operate from May to September. Zoomarine, with dolphins, seals, birds, turtles, and butterflies, is open almost all year, as is the Lagos Zoo.
