The accommodation
This cottage is approx. 2 kms from the centre of Arganil and situated in the apple orchards of Alagoa.The house has 2 bedrooms.
The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two single beds, there is a seperate shower room. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker, fridge, microwave etc.
The living area is in the old cellar and retains the stone walls with a fireplace and has a sofa bed and Portuguese satellite TV with some foreign channels, wifi internet access and there is also a dining table and chairs here.
In the garden there is also a table and chairs and a BBQ.
Setting
The house is in a quiet setting on the edge of the village of Alagoa approx. 2kms from the centre of Arganil. It is on the lane leading to the apple orchards and fields and has a view across the surrounding countryside to the mountains in the distance.
Activities and attractions
The river beach at Sarzedo is less than 2kms away and the Rio Alva is approx. 500ms away. There is also a popular river beach in Secarias, approx. 2 kms, where you can hire pedaloes in the summer months.
Arganil is the closest town with shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes etc.
The ancient university city of Coimbra is 45kms from here.
Approx. 60 kms away is the Serra de Estrela is the highest mountain in Portugal with spectacular views and ski slopes in the winter.
