The accommodation

Jabia Beachouse is a structure located just a few steps from the sea, on the white beaches of Selinunte, an enchanting place where you can spend moments of relaxation and fun. This magnificent mansion is set in a typical Mediterranean cultivation with citrus,olive trees and vineyards. Connected by a small private path to the beach it allows toenjoy the crystal clear waters of Selinunte in a few minutes without moving much. It has amodern cut in step with the times, sea view rooms, garden-style Arabic, with a beautiful pool intergrate into the landscape, large verandas with barbecue and private parking.

Setting

Selinunte was an ancient Greek city on the southwestern coast of Sicily. A town full of history at that time had a short life, around 240 years old, this is because it was destroyed by the Carthaginians that subsequent earthquakes.

All the affected land form now an archaeological park of the size of about 40 hectares (the largest in Europe).

In the archaeological site, there are some temples on the Acropolis along with other secondary buildings. These temples were rebuilt since many buildings have been ruined due to earthquakes that occurred in medieval times, however, some interventions have allowed to reconstruct almost completely the so-called Temple of Hera.

The sculptures found in excavations of Selinunte are mainly located in the National Archaeological Museum of Palermo, exception the most famous work, the Ephebe of Selinunte, which is now exhibited at the Municipal Museum of Castelvetrano.

How to get to Selinunte:
Motorway A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo, exit Castelvetrano, Selinunte continuation towards the nature reserve of Belice.
