Chiclana de la Frontera

Chiclana is a large town in the province of Cádiz. The nearest airports are Jerez (50 km north) and Seville (135 km). The closest beach is 7 km away.

More than 76,000 people live in Chiclana. It enjoys a mild climate with plenty of sunshine, little rainfall and an average temperature of 19°C.

Chiclana has recently become an important tourist destination thanks to its beautiful and varied natural surroundings. Part of the town lies within the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park, featuring dunes, beaches, pine forests and salt marshes. The town is typically Andalusian, with historic monuments, parks and markets.

With 8 km of fine sand and clear waters, La Barrosa Beach is one of the main attractions. It includes dunes, cliffs and gently sloping areas with excellent sports facilities.

Further north is Sancti Petri, with its marina and fishing port. Sailing, windsurfing and surfing are popular, and a ferry runs regular coastal trips. Offshore lies Sancti Petri Island with its Phoenician castle.

Chiclana is a wine-producing area—visit one of its wineries and taste excellent local wines. Typical cuisine includes fresh fish, seafood, pork and pastries.
