Setting

In the Alentejo plain lies the village of Montoito, County of Redondo.The town of Évora (mankind's heritage) is around 30 km away, the Alqueva dam is a 15-minute drive away. Nearby are the castles of Terena, Portel, Mourão and Monsaraz (with the excellent view of the Alqueva lake), there are megalithic monuments in the immediate vicinity. In this area you can visit excellent wineries, (Herdade do Esporão, Ervideira etc.). Do not miss Corval, with its traditional potteries.

You can also visit the Ducal Palace in Vila Viçosa, Estremoz with its medieval castle, Évora Monte and its castle, Borba with its castle and the field of the Battle of Montes Claros, Alandroal where besides the castles you can visit the fortress of Juromenha and the shrine of Nossa Senhora da Boa Nova in Terena and the Lucefit dam. Badajoz is an hour's drive away, with shopping centers and its Water Park.
