The main tourist attraction is certainly città alta,Bergamo's original nucleus surrounded by the Venetian walls of the 1500s, a place of particular beauty where among the ancient alleys are the Baptistery, the Colleoni Chapel, Piazza Vecchia, and the Campanone that still rings at 10 p.m. the hundred chimes that warned the inhabitants of the imminent closing of the city gates. In the lower town we point out among the various sites to visit the Carrara Academy, a picture gallery with important works not to be missed
