Villa El Olivo in Menorca offers hospitality in a charming natural environment.
Located on the south coast of the island it is sheltered from the north wind; beaches and cliffs frame a turquoise sea just a few minutes' walk away
Staying there is an emotion that we wish to share.
This charming detached villa, recently purchased by an Italian couple in love with the island, is surrounded by a large garden and has a covered terrace accessible from the kitchen and the living room. Comfortably furnished and with sea view from the terrace of the master en-suite bedroom, it is situated in a quiet and safe residential area, without any passing cars and is accessible through an elegant private driveway.
The independent villa has a well-equipped kitchen, a living room and three bedrooms: a double room with an en-suite bathroom and sea-view balcony and two comfortable and bright double rooms which share a further spacious bathroom. There are thus a total of six comfortable beds and two spacious bathrooms.
A swimming pool, sun beds with pool towels and wi-fi complete the equipment of the house.

Baby crib/bed and high chair, pool towels, guest slippers, small beach umbrella and safety equipment for the pool are available. This will allow you to travel lighter if you arrive by plane.
Our Property Management Ms. Imma Ribalaiga (speaks Italian, French, English and Spanish) is available for check-in / check-out, for questions and / or technical interventions.
The owners speak Italian, English, French, German, and a little bit Spanish (please ask the property manager for talking to Anna & Stefano)
Rules for Cleaning and Linen Change
Clean linen and towels for the whole house are provided every week: bed linen and towels included (1 set/week for each guest);
2 Pool Towels for each guest for the entire stay are provided (washing machine and washing line in the back garden available for alternating the pool towels)
Kitchen linens; 1 blanket for each bed (max 6)
Pool cleaning twice a week
Air conditioning (Inverter technology: air conditioning / heating) in all rooms free of charge; air conditioning in the living room and in the kitchen on request with a small contribution to expenses.
You only have to plan your next holiday at our home; so it will be a bit yours!

Setting
The villa is located in the residential area of Binisafua, on the south/south west coast, close to several small beaches and fantastic coves with clear and turquoise waters. The charming bay of Calo Blanc and the sandy beach of Binisafuller are just around the corner, the Club Nautico (small restaurant by the sea) is within walking distance. Close-by is the beach of Binibeca, the charming fishing village of Binibeca Vell. The historic centre of Sant Lluis, equipped with all services, is just a few minutes’ drive away.
We bought our house because we love Binisafua (Binisafuller) and its surroundings. The area is very quiet and green, near two beaches that are highly popular amongst the Menorcans, and not so plenty of tourists as many others: the sandy beach of Binisafua being small and very picturesque with its old fishermen’s houses and marvellous cliffs around, and Calo Blanc, a little gem. Both are within walking distance from home. Numerous other cliffs are within walking distance. The Camin de Cavals has an entrance at the end of the road that leads to the villa; from there you can walk for hours in a protected area, and walk to the fjords of Blindali and Biniparratx, just for trying out other nearby beaches. The Camin de Cavals, a Heritage of the UNESCO goes around the entire island of Menorca, an island that offers tranquillity and family tourism, with special attention to the environmental protection (Menorca is a marine and terrestrial park).
In the many interesting archaeological sites of talaiotic civilization (similar to the nuragic civilization) it is possible to admire fascinating megaliths and large necropolis. The opportunities for excursions and sporting activities are definitely varied. The picturesque village of Binibeca Vell can also be reached from Villa El Olivo with a fifteen minutes’ walk along the coast, or a short drive. In summer the village is plenty of local shops and restaurants, which provide for a good atmosphere to enjoy a pleasant evening.
We like very much downhills to the nautical Club of Binisafua, on the walk to Binibeca. It's a very charming location, kitted out with old remittances boats. Sitting at the tables of this Club, while eating tasty and simple fish dishes or traditional Menorcan dishes, it just seems to touch the sea. On Sundays in the summer, Dj set for happy hour
Another place with a nice atmosphere, though not overlooking the sea, is El Txoko, a short walk from home, where you can have dinner with simple tapas, grilled dishes, or grab a beer with friends.
By car you can reach many quality restaurants in the area of Sant Lluis (we like to cite Pan y Vino at Torret, a fascinating experience of taste) in Es Castell or in Mahòn/Maò, where along the Harbour there are excellent seafood restaurants, typical Menorcan cuisine’s restaurants, and tapas restaurants (a very fashionable tapas restaurant in Mahòn is Taps Can Avelino). The choice of places to eat is really great in the capital, which in the evening still offers a delightful atmosphere for walking, shopping and relaxation. Mahón can be reached in a quarter of an hour by car from Villa El Olivo. Do not miss the experience of lunch/dinner in the beautiful Mercat de Pescados (Plaza de Espana), where you can buy fish dishes or tapas, drinks etc to be consumed in the lively and shared space of the old market. The cellars of Bininfadet (Bodegas Bininfadet) between Sant Lluís and Es Castell offer a pleasant environment for local wine tastings and food. Booking absolutely requested. Ten-minute’s drive from El Olivo.
To cook at home at the barbecue and dine by the pool, we recommend shopping at the Sa Botiga De S'Uestra, on the road to Sant Lluis, a typical supermarket housed in old menorcans buildings, boasting a fantastic assortment of meats, cheeses and local vegetables.
If you want to have a special evening with exquisite seafood, plan a dinner at the restaurant Cafè Balear at the ancient port of Ciudadela; extraordinary and expensive. From home you need approx. one hour by car.
Another experience that we would like to recommend is to hear the guitar playing at the Es Cau tavern (in Es Castell, Cala Corb) where, by drinking a wine or a typical Minorcan Gin drink, the Pomada, menorcans love singing all together old songs of tradition, and even some Italian pieces. Priceless atmosphere.
Binisafua and Cap d'en Font are two of the most exclusive places in Menorca. Here there are only villas surrounded by greenery on a jagged coast among the most beautiful, with one of the most fascinating snorkeling spots and two small coves, Calo Blanc and Binisafua Playa which are two little gems. These two localities so popular even by the inhabitants of Menorca are very close to Mahon airport (about 4 km as the crow flies).
In short, it is useless to deny it, we are in love with our Villa El Olivo: it is beautiful to live the garden with its plants, get up in the morning and have a breakfast either on the romantic balcony with sea view or at the breakfast bar in the kitchen all together. It's amazing to see the palms swaying their "hands" in the evening, read and/or take an aperitif at the pool listening to good music
We believe we have told you all or almost all about what Villa El Olivo.

Activities and attractions
- - - - BOOKING POLICY & CANCELLATION POLICY 2024 & 2025- - - -
>> DEPOSIT: In order to confirm the booking-request a 30% deposit of the total rental amount should be paid. The deposit is NOT refundable
>> BALANCE: The balance is due 60 days before the date of arrival. In the event of your dates of travel being less than the requested 60 days away at the time you book, the FULL amount should be paid at the time of booking.
>> ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE: The villa will be available from 3pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure. In some case the villa could be ready earlier than the stated time but it cannot be guarantees in advance. Late departure from property may incur a waiting charge for cleaning staff in attendance. If GUESTS have a late flight, the GUESTS should inform the HOST/Property Management in advance; the HOST/Property Management will always try to help by scheduling the servicing of the property as late as possible, but this can never be guaranteed in advance.
>> CLEANING: The villa will be cleaned and prepared on arrival. The Property Management will be available for any technical problems and is responsible for the cleaning of the villa as well for the laundry.
>> LIABILITY: The GUESTS are occupying a private villa. The GUESTS are responsible for their own safety in respect of any accidents or damages sustained by any GUESTS while at the property. It is GUESTS's responsibility to ensure having adequate holiday insurance to cover personal injury/accidents/damage. The HOST will accept NO claims for such matters.
>> SWIMMING POOL: Children must always be accompanied in the swimming pool. All bathing is under GUESTS's responsibility. “Pool Rules”, are clearly indicated on suitable signs by the pool.
>> OBLIGATIONS: The villa may only be occupied by a maximum of 6 guests. GUESTS with small kids are required to ask in advance for possible over occupation. GUESTS must take care of the provided Pool Towels in particular in case of their use outside of the villa. Pool Towels should be returned at Departure. Guests agree to take all necessary steps to safeguard his personal property while at the property. A safe is available in the villa (it should be left OPEN at departure). It is at the discretion of the guests to ensure that each member of his family/group is covered by comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damage to baggage and other property) and health insurance (including evacuation and repatriation coverage). Any early departure or non-arrival will be considered as a cancellation of the Booking by guests and the HOST shall be under no obligation to refund the guests for any fees already paid in those circumstances.
>> DAMAGES: The GUESTS are kindly requested to leave the villa as it was at GUESTS's arrival. A security deposit of 300,00 EUR has to be paid together with the balance OR at check-in. The security deposit will be reimbursed, in case of no damages, at check-out.
>> CANCELLATION POLICY: a 60 days’ cancellation notice prior to the scheduled arrival is requested, otherwise a cancellation fee of 100% of total rental amount will be charged
The HOST will make every attempt to assist in altering dates to suit. The HOST would not expect to have to make any changes to GUESTS’s Booking once it is confirmed between GUESTS and HOST, but sometimes main problems can occur and the HOST does have to make alterations or, very occasionally cancel Bookings (it never happened). In this case, the HOST will contact the GUESTS as soon as is reasonably practical and inform the GUESTS of the cancellation or the change to GUESTS’s Booking. If the HOST cancel GUESTS’s Booking, any fees already paid to the HOST on GUESTS’s booking will be refunded to the GUESTS. Nothing else is due by the OWNER to the GUESTS. To cover the costs of any cancellation charges, the GUESTS are strongly advised to take out adequate and appropriate insurance at the time of booking.
>> SPECIAL COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY: in case SPECIFIC RESTRICTIONS by GOVERNMENTS do not permit the planned travel of GUESTS to Menorca, the booking will be cancelled and the PAID DEPOSIT/BALANCE will be FULLY returned to the GUESTS. It should however be considered that for ANY ILLNESS of GUESTS (COVID-19 Illness included), the HOST is ONLY due to follow the general Cancellation Policy indicated here above. It is at the discretion of the GUESTS ONLY to ensure that GUESTS are covered by comprehensive TRAVEL AND HEALTH INSURANCE (including evacuation and repatriation coverage).
>> PETS: animals are normally NOT admitted. The GUESTS could however ask for a special permission providing a photograph of the companion animal (only domestic animals) but it should be considered that an extra charge for the Final Cleaning of 100,00 EUR as well as an extra Security Deposit of 200,00 EUR are to be paid directly to the HOST. Attack dogs and Guard dogs are banned. In case that the animal will be admitted, the GUESTS will get additional “Rules for the Admission of an Animal to the Property” which the GUESTS has to accept in writing.
>> SMOKING: smoking is NOT allowed inside the villa; there are numerous outside spaces to smoke. However, the GUESTS are kindly requested to make sure smokers leaving the cigarette butts in the ashtrays.
>> FORCE MAJEUR: The HOST accepts no liability to pay compensation for any loss, damage or changes arising from unforeseeable circumstances beyond the HOST’s control such as (but not limited to) war, riot, civil strikes, floods, and closure of airports due to adverse weather conditions (including volcanic activity and ash related delays) or other events beyond the HOST’s control. It’s GUESTS’s responsibility to ensure GUESTS are adequately insured.
>> A "Short Term Rental Agreement" will be sent to the GUESTS after booking.
