The accommodation

This is a detached studio house in a plot share with other two small houses. Each has its own terrace and part of the garden, although other parts of the garden are common. The plot is fenced.
It is a very central place but still quite and easy to park. Everything is on walking distance therefore you don´t need a car.
The studio has two built beds (one double and one single) and is therefore suitable for a couple with a child.

Setting

This small studio house is very close to the beach, and the centre of San Jose.You can walk to the beach, or to the supermarket and the "Plaza".
San José is a small town within the natural park Cabo de Gata Nijar. The village has all the necessary amenities for a holiday like several supermarkets, restaurants, gift and craft shops, two banks and three ATMs, pharmacy, doctor, press kiosk, several sandy beaches in the village. The village is surrounded by the beaches of the natural park (Genoveses, Mónsul, Cala HIguera, El Barronal ...)
Ideal to enjoy the beach, the walks and for lovers of nature, minerals (volcano area), birds or movies (for having been the scene of numerous films)
Nearby is the village of Nijar, with crafts of mud and jarapas. You can also visit the old mining town of Rodalquilar or the beach of Cabo de Gata with its salt flats where you can see if it is the flamenco season.
Only 40km away is the city of Almería with a shopping center, airport, train and bus station.
Granada is 220km away, so it is possible to visit it on a one or two day trip

Activities and attractions

San José also has a small marina, where you can take boat trips, scubadiving, kayak trips and often there are sailing courses.
You can also make daytryps with horses, routes in 4x4 cars.
In summer there are many concerts and activities around the square and the seafront
In addition, activities such as concerts of classical music, flamenco and modern music are held in privileged surroundings such as Castillo de Escullos, etc.
In the summer fairs are frequent in the villages (San Jose, Pozo de los Frailes, Nijar, etc).
The fair of Almería, with midday fair, musical shows, flamenco festivals, etc. is at the end of August.
