Setting

The cottages were created following the renovation of an old farmhouse. They are located in Parghelia, in the picturesque “Costa degli Dei” region, 1 km from the renowned town of Tropea, facing the Tyrrhenian coast and the Aeolian Islands. The country homes, with adjoining land planted with fruit trees, are about 400 m from the sea, very close to various beaches—some reachable on foot via a magnificent scenic road, others by car. There are public beaches with picturesque cliffs and white sand, as well as beaches equipped with beach clubs and all amenities. The village of Parghelia is just a short walk away, where you can find a grocery store, restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, a pharmacy, rotisseries, a beauty salon, a small playground for children, and more. About 100 m from the property, you can catch the bus to the ferry terminal for the Aeolian Islands.

Activities and attractions

In addition to the approximately 40 km of coastline known as the “Coast of the Gods,” visitors can also explore enchanting places steeped in art and culture. Tropea boasts over 15 churches of historical and religious significance, including the 12th-century Norman Cathedral and the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Isola, perched on a rock that is now connected to the shore. Strolling through the charming streets of the town, you can also admire numerous 18th- and 19th-century noble palaces perched on the sheer cliff overlooking the beach below. In the narrow alleys, you’ll find numerous restaurants, bars, pubs, ice cream shops, and small craft shops...

During the summer, there are various recreational events, including traditional festivals, an open-air film festival, and the Tropea Blues Festival....About 35 km away lies Pizzo, the “city of gelato” famous for its production of the “tartufo” flavor. Pizzo Calabro is a splendid coastal village perched on a promontory at the center of the Gulf of Sant’Eufemia. The town center offers picturesque medieval views interspersed with stately villas from various eras.
Must-see attractions include the Church of Piedigrotta, carved into the tuff rock, and the Church of San Giorgio Martire. Also worth visiting is the Aragonese Castle, commissioned by Ferdinand I of Aragon in the 1400s, famous for having once imprisoned Joachim Murat, King of Naples and brother-in-law of Napoleon Bonaparte. Furthermore, the local landscape is particularly beautiful, contrasting the green forests of the Serre Massif with the golden beaches lapped by the sea. There are also two important parks: the Mongiana Regional Park and the Serra San Bruno Park.

We are just a few kilometers from Capo Vaticano. The most picturesque bay in Capo Vaticano is Grotticelle, formed by three contiguous beaches, considered among the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world. The promontory from which it takes its name is composed of a unique type of granite—white-gray in color—studied worldwide for its geological peculiarities. Capo Vaticano is a must-visit destination for paleontologists and divers thanks to its picturesque beaches, crystal-clear sea, and seabed rich in shells typical of tropical seas, shark teeth, corals, and Quaternary marine sediments. In the area surrounding the property, you can also rent pedal boats, surfboards, motorboats, diving equipment, sailboats, try flyboarding, horseback riding, tennis, and more....
