The accommodation

The apartment is located on the second floor of a building, located a few meters from the historic center and the marina.

The flat is located on the second floor on Via dell'appetito alto no. 44, (Via del sorbo no. 27 is the flat's exclusive private access to the rear).
At the base of the building there is a paid parking lot useful for loading/ unloading luggage.
Nearby there is the possibility to park for free.
The apartment consists of a corridor/ entrance, where we find: double bedroom: double bed, sofa (with the possibility of conversion into a sofa bed and a half), wardrobe, air conditioning, plasma TV with window.
Bathroom with toilet, shower and hairdryer.
Next to the bathroom there is a closet, consisting of: washing machine, drain, drying rack and a small closet.
In the living room there is a dining table (extendable), double sofa bed, air conditioning and plasma TV.
The kitchen is equipped with all utensils including: kettle, oven and toaster.
Living room and kitchen overlook the wonderful sea view.
The apartment is equipped with wi-fi.
Children under 14 do not pay tourist tax (2 euro per night per person).

Setting

LA CASA AL MARE is located in the Fortezza district, where we can admire it from the balcony of the apartment.
The tradition of the sea palio dates back to 1937 and is held every 15 August.
It is a race that puts in competition 4 boats, four rowers and helmsman, representing the four districts of the city:
CROSS: called crociaioli, has in the coat of arms, above a gray seagull in the red field, below a cross of Sant'Andrea red in white field;
FORTRESS: called fortresses, has in the coat of arms, on the left the Spanish fortress gilded in red field, on the right a golden donkey climbing in amaranth field;
PILARELLA: called pilarellai, has in the coat of arms, on the left a golden amphora in the red field, on the right a light gray dolphin in the night blue field;
VALLEY: these valleys, the colors of the Valley are light blue and white, and its coat of arms include the axe and the lighthouse.

For those entering Porto Santo Stefano for the first time see the SPANISH FORTRESS, which dominates the whole country from above, is a spectacle.
It was built between the end of the sixteenth and the beginning of the seventeenth century by the Spaniards, in the heart of the State of the Presìdi, in the place where the Torre Santo Stefano stood, built by the Sienese during the fifteenth century.
The intent was to intensify the coastal defensive system of the Promontory of Monte Argentario and to protect the small settlement that at that time consisted of a few houses and a source of pure water, very valuable for ships that made short stops protected from sea currents.
Today the Spanish Fortress is home to two permanent exhibitions:
Submerged Memories and Axe Masters; during the year temporary exhibitions are also organized, during which artists of various kinds (painters, sculptors, photographers) exhibit their works.

From the apartment you can walk to the marina where there is the possibility to embark for the Giglio Island and Giannutri.

In the panoramic part of Porto Santo Stefano that connects to Porto Ercole we can walk to wonderful coves...breathtaking!
