The accommodation
Two floors vila with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms right in front of Isla Canela's sandy beach. Private furnished garden. Private pool with a baby safety gate. Fully equipped kitchen, with washing machine, dishwaser, owen, microwave, dining table and direct access to the garden and the pool. Two terraces plus a panoramic roof terrace with amazing views. Sea views from all floors, three of the bedrooms and even from the pool. Private parking for two cars. Free WIFI. Flat screen tv. Ten metres to the beach. Admits ten guests.
Setting
Isla Canela is a real island, separated from the continent by several sea channels. Part of it declared Natural Protected Area, (a legal qualification just one level below that of National Pak) due to its rich ecological value, what has limited its occupation and reduced the building activity. Only a 20% of the island is occupied, while traditional activities (crops and fishing), still go on. In fact, the island still encloses two small fishermen's villages, and a 7 km long sandy beach with warm clean waters. It belongs to the Andalucian town of Ayamonte, placed right in the border to the Portuguese Algarve.
The vila is placed right in front of the beach, separated from the sand by a narrow street. And nearby (200 m.) the tourist commercial area. Thus served with supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and small shops. Ayamonte (8 km) provides the usual services of a medium (18.000 population) town.
Activities and attractions
The area encloses two sport marinas, an18 holes golf course, public sporting areas (tennis, paddle tennis, basket, football, inner swimming pool, gyms), sailing, canoeing and kite surfing schools The area is popular for fishing and hiking. A biking/jogging lane runs it and connects it to Ayamonte.
Both the Andalusiam and the Portuguese areas provide a remarkable gastronomy, based essentialy on fish, and rice.

Mala esperiencia
Aunque la casa esta bien y la situación es buena, nuestra experiencia fue lamentable. El segundo día de estar alojados alli, mientras estamos en la playa, a escasos 100 metros, alguien entro en la casa y nos robaron todo dinero que teníamos, hasta las propinas que tenian los niños. No es solo la pérdida del dinero, sino la inseguridad que el robo te crea. No nos queríamos quedar ninguno solos. Los niños intranquilos y no dormian. Los mayores pendientes todo el tiempo de las cosas de valor. Las llevabas a todas partes, incluso a la playa. Ya no te atrevias a dejarlas en el chalet. En fin, muy mala esperiencia. Y por parte de las personas que nos lo alquilaron muy buenas palabras, pero ya. Denunciamos en el cuartel de la guardia civil. Si le volviera a pasar a algun alojado, espero q no, por favor denuncien, por si conseguimos algo.

Lamentamos sinceramente los acontecimientos en los que se vieron involucrados nuestros clientes el verano pasado. Pero rechazamos la acusación de inseguridad del chalet. El hurto se produjo sin violencia: ni se forzaron las cerraduras, ni se rompió ningún cristal, ventana o puerta, ni quedó huella alguna del paso de los ladrones. Muy probablemente, lo que estos hicieron fuera aprovechar un descuido de los inquilinos que dejarían abierto alguno de los accesos. Nada permite afirmar que el chalet sea inseguro. Nuestro apoyo no se limitó a las “buenas palabras”. Nos pusimos en contacto con las compañías de seguros. Los inquilinos carecían de seguro de viajes. Su aseguradora personal no cubría el caso. La aseguradora de la propiedad no encontró fundamento para resarcir las perdidas: no había daños materiales; no faltaba ningún objeto personal de los inquilinos; y sobre el hurto del dinero no había más evidencia que la denuncia de los inquilinos. La guardia civil tampoco pudo tomar medida alguna. Durante todo el proceso se mantuvo una comunicación fluida con los inquilinos, que estuvieron informados de los distintos pasos, y que consideraron razonables las conclusiones, dadas las circunstancias. En lugar visible del vestíbulo del chalet hay una hoja de bienvenida que, entre otras medidas, aconseja tener cuidado de cerrar con doble vuelta el cerrojo de la puerta y verificar que todas las ventanas quedan cerradas al abandonar el inmueble. Naturalmente que empatizamos con la sensación de inseguridad que debieron experimentar los inquilinos tras el hurto, pero no podemos considerarnos responsables del mismo. Antonio r.-valdés costagolf
