The National Park of the Sierra de Guadarrama is located between the provinces of Madrid and Segovia. It is located in the central area of the mountain range that crosses the center of the Iberian Peninsula from east to west and it is named after the Guadarrama river. The villages maintain their granite mountain architecture façades, pitched roofs and wooden eaves. There are also traditional buildings with slate. The area offers a wide range of activities for tourism in the mountains, such as hiking, cycling or the gastronomy at some of its restaurants in rural areas.
