The northern way of "Camino de Santiago" begins in the city of Irun, and is one of the most frequented by pilgrims coming from the North Europe. This path is also called the way of the coast, because it goes along the Cantabrian coast to the town of Arzúa, where it joins the French way. Spectacular scenery, unspoilt countryside and cities with a great historical and cultural heritage, welcome every year many pilgrims who walk its trails, about 900 km long, to reach the city of Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia.
