The accommodation

The apartment is situated on the peninsula, referred to as the La Manga strip, 17 kms down the 22 km stretch of land, only 300 meters wide at the widest point, with both the Mar Menor lagoon and Mediterranean sea on either side, giving you a total of 44 kms of sandy coast line. The apartment is 2 mins walk from the lagoon and 3 mins walk from the Med.

Situated in a residential area called Luz Bahia next to Los Gondolas. The apartment is located on the 5th floor of an eight floor apartment block. The pool and apartment has disabled access. Access to the Mar Menor and Med is easily managed by disabled clients.

Fully furnished, including ironing board and iron, microwave, washing machine, tv/dvd/cd player, highchair. Double sofa bed in living area. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably.

Restaurants/tapas bars/supermarkets/bars in walking distance. Bus service, more frequent during high season. Shared swimming pool. Car – recommended.

Setting

The apartment is located at the end of the La Manga Strip, approximately 17 kms from the start of the Strip. The nearest town is Cabo de Palos and the most convenient way to reach the apartment is by car, but there are buses that run the entire length of the Strip regularly. Taxis are available to collect you from both Murcia airport (80 km) and Alicante airport (120 km). Please contact me if you want competitive rates. There is a ferry service available from Santiago de la Riberia, which is close to Murcia airport. You will need to get a taxi to Santiago and then the ferry.. The ferry will bring you into Thomas Maestro marina which is 4 km from the apartment. You can catch a bus or taxi from there.

I do recommend you hire a car.

Activities and attractions

Beaches
The choice of beaches is almost endless, from the wild dunes to the south, to the gently sloping safe beaches of the Mar Menor. Being shallow, the Mar Menor is often a little warmer than the Mediterranean.

Leisure & Recreation
La Manga has a fine sports harbour where you can hire all manner of water-sports equipment, including sailing dinghies. Lessons are available too.

Being completely flat, La Manga is very easy to get about for walkers and cyclists alike. Long distance runners will enjoy heading off along the paths at the southern end of the strip.

Peke Park is an adventure park for all ages, this is located next to Bohemia Plaza about 10km from the apartment heading towards Cabo de Palos.

Excursions
Day trips to Cartagena for its historical sites and to Murcia for cultural attractions and shopping.
