This island is facing Split, in the region of Dalmacia Central, which is one of the most important touristic areas of Croatia. It is well connected via ferry and catamaran, with several stops at various points of the island. This is an interesting place, also historically speaking, because besides the ruins of a prehistoric settlement called Castro Gradac, you can also find Roman remains, who at the time named the island as "Solenta". Among the most famous coves are Necujam, Rogac and Maslinica. In the latter you can visit the famous castle of Conte Alberti, who also has a world famous restaurant. Its beach, despite the artificial gravel, offers optimal infrastructures and breathtaking turquoise waters.
Numerous boat rental business, bars, shops, restaurants and a variety of accommodations complete the touristic offer of the island. Sailboat tourism or hunting are other popular activities.
