The Costa Nova is one of the busiest summer areas in this part of Portugal, with its large sandy beaches and the great conditions for surfing and windsurfing, and there is also a sailing club. It is next to the Ria de Aveiro, belonging to the municipality of Ílhavo .
The most distinctive feature of this beach is presented in the form of houses painted with colorful and interspersed lists, called "palheiros". Being very close to Aveiro, you can enjoy the typical cuisine of the region – eel stew, “ovos moles” or the typical “tripas” (with chocolate, egg sweets and others).
